TRISH
THINGS I'VE LOVED IN 2012:
- Tying the knot and dancing the Polka at our wedding (yes that's my hubs laying on the dance floor!) . Writing my new name makes me smile and coming home to my best friend and soulmate each night can make even the longest of days seem worth it.- Attending floral design classes in NYC this Fall. I felt so lucky to be able to go and take so much away from just a few short days.
- Collaborating with Dee! Every gal could use a Dee Ruel in their life :) I'm blessed to have met her and happy to work together and inspire each other creatively everyday.
- Ending the year with two amazing weddings in December and then spending a week with family over the holiday. Thank You Santa!
THINGS I'VE LEARNED IN 2012:
- Mean what you say. Say what you mean... But don't be mean about it.
- Recycling is rather a pain but it's the right thing to do (thanks Eric). I'm on board now.
- My family will do anything, drop anything, or carry anything for one another. Family means everything.
- Always be true to your heart, even if your mind plays tricks on what your heart wants. Be yourself, be kind, go out of your way, and spread love to everyone you come into contact with.
THINGS TO BRING TO THE TABLE (OR LEAVE OFF) IN 2013:
- Getting some milage back on these legs! I finally have time to get some work outs in. No excuses (not even this thing we call "cold" in the South). My blood has thinned though, no joke.
- Worry less. My Grandpa recently told me that I worry too much...I could probably use a good slap in the face from time to time. An anxious heart weights a man (or gal) down. Thanks Gramps!
- Tell more jokes. People love jokes....right?
"A guy is sitting at home when he hears a knock at the door. He opens the door and sees a snail on the porch. He picks up the snail and throws it as far as he can. Three years later, there’s a knock on the door. He opens it and sees the same snail. The snail says "What the heck was that all about?"

THINGS I'VE LOVED IN 2012:
- Taking that trip to Maui, it may have put me in the poor house, but it kept me going for 7 more months, left me inspired, brown skinned and happy happy.
- Hiring Trish. She is like a built in organizing, muse. She has a great soul, an open mind, and has decent taste in music. She makes me want to be a better person.
- Creating and selling the coordinate bracelets! This was my goal in the past year and I'm so happy that I went through with it and that my customers and friends embraced it.
- Finally overcoming insomnia. Who knew sleep was so important?
THINGS I'VE LEARNED IN 2012:
- If your best guy friend gets a girlfriend, you can probably kiss that friendship goodbye. However heartbreaking this may be, it is the truth.
- Not to feel guilty about taking a break. Not a vacation. Just a break.
- Not having cable is ridiculous. Why I decided to cut spending this way, is beyond me. Bravo I miss you.
- I've learned that people look up to me as a business owner and creator of beautiful things. I will continue to foster growth, resourcefulness and creativity in anyone that seeks it and take pride in my own work.
THINGS TO BRING TO THE TABLE (OR LEAVE OFF) IN 2013:
- I have to raise my prices. I have been in business 6 years without really doing so. In order to keep moving, I don't have a choice. Gold, rent and labor have reared their ugly heads.
- Smart spending...I certainly do not need to spend 15.00 for lunch every day. Peanut butter and Jelly new lunch of choice.
- Keeping important documents organized. Meh. Come back to me in a year on this one.
- I am going on an internet diet, try to use my brain more, Google less. Pinterest does not count. Ever.
- I would love to organize a fun collaboration with other local artists. I hope to plan something for late Spring!
RESOLUTIONS: It is believed that the Babylonians were the first to make New Year's resolutions, and people all over the world have been breaking them ever since.
